Beginning today, contestants who add an event to their personal event calendar will receive 1 "bonus" point when they attend the event.

You must add the event to your calendar BEFORE the event takes place to receive your bonus.

Why are we doing this?

One of the biggest headaches we face is the replication of competitors on the leaderboard. The website tracks competitors by name. If you enter one contest as "William Turner" and another as "Bill Turner", the website thinks that you are two seperate contestants and it will create a new stats page. Eventually, you will figure this out and call us so that we can merge these names.

When you add an upcoming event to your event calendar, your name becomes part of a database list associated with that event. The day before the show, the judge can log in and download a Term-LAB database file created by the website that contains the names of all of those competitors who are on the list. This insures that the names are exactly the same as on your stats page. It also saves the judge time because he doesn't have to type in a lot of data at the show.

Currently, the leaderboard does not show the bonus points. But it will very shortly. You should start using this feature immediately. Once an event takes place, there will be no way to go back and add the event to your personal event calendar.

If you go to 8 events per season, this new feature will be like winning 1st place at an event!
